The Walk Cycle is a university project that constituted animating a side-view walking cycle of a character. I picked Alfredo Linguini and Remy of Pixar’s Ratatouille. The first steps were manually sculpting the characters from basic shapes.
After the characters were modelled, I used images of realistic chef attire as a reference for Linguini’s clothing. The final step was rigging Linguini’s limbs to animate a walking action.
The background is a normal kitchen with 2 cookers that was modelled after the walk cycle. Linguini is not actually moving in the animation, the body is moving in place. The background is moving backwards to convey Linguini’s movement.
